Ordering

How do I order?

Our weekly Bucket Drop goes live every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. on our website. Orders remain available until flavours sell out.

Do you take pre-orders?

We don't offer pre-orders outside of our weekly Thursday Bucket Drop. This gives everyone an equal opportunity to order when the menu is released each week.

Do you take custom orders?

Not at this time. We currently focus on our weekly menu so we can continue baking everything fresh in small batches.

Menu & Flavours

How do I know what flavours are coming next?

Our signature 25 oz. Caramel Carrot Cake is available for pre-order every Thursday.

Every other flavour is either announced early on our website or kept as a surprise until the Bucket Drop goes live at 7:00 p.m. every Thursday.

Once a flavour sells out, we're no longer able to guarantee orders for that week. If production allows, additional quantities may be available in Shop the Fridge throughout the weekend.

Visiting MacKay's Bakery

Do you have a storefront?

No. MacKay's Bakery is a licensed DineSafe home bakery with a self-serve porch pickup in Pickering.

Where do I pick up my order?

Pickup is from:

932 Redbird Cres.
Pickering, Ontario

Detailed pickup instructions are included in your order pickup email.

Orders may be picked up Friday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

What happens if I forget to pick up my order?

When placing your order, you may choose your pickup day between Friday and Sunday by leaving it in the order notes at checkout.

If no pickup day is provided, your order will be prepared for the next available pickup day. If you need to change your pickup date, please email us as soon as possible. Once production has begun, we are unable to change your pickup day.

Orders remain in our pickup fridge until Sunday at 8:00 p.m. If your order has not been collected by then, we are unable to offer pickups from Monday through Wednesday. Your order will remain with us until we reopen on Thursday, but can not guarantee freshness. 

Where should I park?

Please park respectfully and be mindful that we are located in a quiet residential neighbourhood where children live and play.

We kindly ask that you avoid blocking driveways or roadways. Thank you for helping us be good neighbours.

Shop the Fridge

What is Shop the Fridge?

Shop the Fridge is our self-serve porch bakery. Simply stop by, choose your treats and pay using the honour system.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash or e-transfer. If paying with cash, simply place your payment in the mailbox.

Can I reserve items from Shop the Fridge?

No. Shop the Fridge is always first come, first served.

Can you tell me what's in the fridge?

Unfortunately, no. Inventory changes throughout the day, so we're unable to provide real-time updates.

Are you home every day to answer questions?

No. Shop the Fridge is a self-serve system, so we may not always be available to answer questions at the door.

We can no longer respond to text messages, phone calls, voicemails, WhatsApp messages, Instagram DMs, Facebook messages or TikTok DMs. As a small family bakery, email helps us ensure nothing gets missed.

Please allow up to 72 hours for a response.

After Pickup

Should I check my order before I leave?

Yes. Please check your order before leaving the porch to ensure you've received everything you ordered.

Once your order has left the property, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.

How long do Buckets keep?

Buckets are best enjoyed fresh and stored in the refrigerator. For the best quality, we recommend enjoying them within 3 to 4 days.

Policies

Do you ship or deliver?

No. All orders are pickup only.

What if I have a food allergy?

Our kitchen regularly uses milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts and tree nuts. While not every product contains every allergen, we cannot guarantee against cross-contact.

Can I return or exchange my order?

Because our products are made in small batches and are perishable, we're unable to accept returns or exchanges due to personal taste preferences. If there is ever a concern with the quality of your order, please contact us. We'll always make things right if we've made a mistake.
